Adoption Fees
While pugs are in foster, GPPR pays for all veterinarian expenses. Our standard intake vetting fills any gaps existing in a pug’s medical history and includes the following:
- Routine exam/labs
- Fecal to check for parasites
- Heart worm test
- Da2pp (distemper, adenovirus type 2, parvovirus, parainfluenza) vaccine
- Kennel cough vaccine
- Rabies vaccine
- Heart worm / flea / tick preventatives
- Spay or neuter procedure
- Treatment/surgery for any existing conditions
We charge adoption fees to recoup part of the investment so we can continue intake of other pugs in need. The adoption fee is only a small percentage of what we spend on vetting, so we rely on generous donations from the public to help offset the costs.
