- Good with cats: Unknown
- Good with kids: Yes (according to previous owner)
- Food/treat aggression: No
- Likes: Daisy is a true Velcro pug! She loves snuggles and pets. If your hands are busy, she’ll find a foot to pet her. She loves being held and belly rubs. She just loves to be around her people. Like most pugs, she likes food! She loves getting treats and mealtime.
- Dislikes: Daisy doesn’t like being left out – she sees herself as an integral part of the family. There isn’t much that we’ve found her to dislike.
- Special considerations: Daisy struggles with stability on smooth floor surfaces. She feels most stable on rugs, carpet, grass, and any textured surfaces. She doesn’t use stairs or jump on furniture, so she’ll need a lift in those situations. Daisy’s grippy socks help her a lot on floors.
- General health: Daisy has arthritis in her hips. She takes anti-inflammatory and nerve pain medication, which she’ll need long term. This arthritis causes weakness in her back legs. It doesn’t slow her down, although she walks awkwardly. Again, Daisy’s grippy socks on her back feet help her maneuver on wood/smooth floors. Daisy has a cataract and dry eye in one eye. She can see well close-up. She has eye drops that will be long-term treatment for dry eye in her left eye. Daisy is deaf. It’s hard to tell because she is so alert and reads the room so well. At 14 lbs, Daisy is a small pug. She has a beautiful coat and she is very soft. She also has the cutest little pug nose! She doesn’t have the usual older-pug nose crustiness. Daisy has had a recent dental cleaning and extractions. Her breath is nice and fresh!
- Temperament: Daisy has a very sweet disposition. Honestly, she’s probably the sweetest little pug we’ve ever met. She welcomes strangers – she’s a “never-met-a-stranger” pug. She has a very calm temperament. While she loves being with her people, she is good when she’s left home alone and sleeps while we’re away. Daisy has spurts of energy, but she also likes her naps. At night, Daisy will put herself to bed when she’s tired. She likes to be tucked in with her blankie at night. She sleeps soundly until she smells breakfast in the morning. Like most pugs, Daisy can be very determined. When she wants something, you’ll know it. Her overall temperament is calm and engaging.
- Personality: Daisy just loves to be loved. She likes to be held like a baby and have her belly rubbed. She is truly a people-pug. She is a happy girl. Daisy is a good communicator. She has her way of communicating what she wants and what she likes. She won’t leave you wondering! She’s very smart. She has picked up on the routines in her foster home very quickly.
- Behavior: Daisy seeks out attention. She really likes to be held and petted as much as you’re willing to offer. Being hard of hearing, Daisy can’t follow verbal commands. She is smart and she is beginning to learn visual commands. She knows a visual command for stay and clapping hands encourages her to come to you. Daisy responds well to positive reinforcement. We think that she has been fed from the table in the past because she does beg in the kitchen and at the table. For Daisy, begging looks like staring at you and looking for food under the table.
