About Eleanor
- Name: Eleanor (Layla)
- Age: 7
- Sex: female
- Weight: 15 lbs
- Spayed: Yes
- Housebroken: Yes. No issues as long as she is walked frequently. She does not always alert you if she needs to go out.
- Crate trained: No. I suspect she may have been crated in the past for long periods of time.
- Barks frequently: No. She barks at people and other dogs when we are walking.
- Digs in yard: No
- Good with dogs: Yes. She was a little dominant with my other pug in the beginning but settled down after a couple days.
- Good with cats: Uncertain.
- Good with kids: Yes. She loves to be petted by children in my neighborhood. She will initially bark at them. I ask the children to squat to her level and reach out and she warms right up.
- Food/treat aggression: No. She is not aggressive but she is dominant.
- Likes: She loves walking on the leash. I live in a walkable community and she prances up the sidewalk. She loves treats after her walk. Rewards are a very effective reinforcement of good behavior for her. She likes chewing on nylon bones. She is a complete snuggle bug and loves curling up in my lap to nap. She even enjoys a bath.
- Dislikes: I haven’t found anything she dislikes.
- Special considerations: She was abandoned prior to rescue. Her food intake needs to be monitored. If I put out food for both my pugs, she will eat both bowls of food.
- General health: She was extremely thin when rescued. She has added a couple pounds which were needed.
- Temperament: She is a sweet little girl. She just wants a lap to cuddle on and someone to love her.
- Personality: She likes to be with people and the family. She is very social.
- Behavior: She has a mild temperament. We had thunderstorms this week and it did not affect her. She does seem to react to bicycles or scooters when walking. She tries to chase them.
